Kelsey Summers M.a., LPC
Welcome – I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Kelsey Summers, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, as well as the owner of Summers Counseling Services, PLLC. I’m passionate about helping individuals live fulfilling, empowered lives. Over the past 12 years, I’ve worked in the mental health field and have come to deeply value the uniqueness of each person’s journey. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience—what helps one individual may not be right for another. That’s why my approach is rooted in truly getting to know you, so together we can create a path toward your personal goals.

I have experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults in working through challenges such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. I believe that counseling is a meaningful investment in yourself—one that can lead to lasting growth, healing, and a better quality of life.

After taking time away for maternity leave and welcoming three wonderful children, I’m thrilled to return to the Andrews, Texas community. As a designated underserved area for mental health services, Andrews holds a special place in my heart, and I’m committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to those in need.

Though I originally come from Lubbock, I’ve called Andrews home for the past seven years. Many of you may recognize the Summers name—my husband, Dr. Chris Summers, DC, and his family have been serving the community through chiropractic care for over 30 years.

It’s an honor to continue that legacy of care and connection. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey.

Warmly,
Kelsey Summers, LPC

WHY SO MANY LETTERS AFTER YOUR NAME?
Good question, let’s break it down.
MA: This stands for my Master of Arts degree in professional counseling from Liberty University.
LPC: This stands for Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas.
WHAT ARE YOUR AREAS OF SPECIALTY?:
It sounds strange - but I get really excited when I am working with clients who need help overcoming symptoms from traumatic experiences. Why? Because I know I can help! By using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and traditional therapy I can help diminish the symptoms that are holding you back in life and help you to finally move forward. Many of us experience adverse childhood experiences that help mold us into whom we have become as adults; however many of these negative experiences have also held us back. Traumatic experiences can cause anxiety and depression that can affect our relationships, work life, and overall self-esteem. If you are an adult, it is not too late to start living your best life, let me help you! I know, first hand, that healing your own history is hard work but I would be humbled to join you on this journey! If your child or teen has been through a traumatic experience it is best to get them into counseling as soon as possible so that the trauma does not cause lingering distress in their lives.
I also get super pumped about providing you psycho-education in regards to mental health and general physical health! Did you know that some scientists consider your gut your second brain? Meaning that our stomach is responsible for many actions in maintaining our mental health! The foods we eat and our lifestyle play an important role in how we feel, not just physically but also our mental health! Curious, about what I have to say? You should be, you have the power to help yourself feel better! Lifestyle and dietary changes may help alleviate some symptoms associated with depression and anxiety.

My latest passion has come from my three years of my
own motherhood journey. Being a mom is so challenging
and we don't talk about that enough in our world! Let
me help support you on your journey so you can be your
best version of you for your family! Whether you are going
through infertility, a loss, birth trauma or just in the sleep
deprived trenches of motherhood, I'm here for you!
Pouring into yourself is the best thing you can do
for your children.
